How to get rid of skunk smell off of your pets

If you have a cat like ours, Cotton, who learned to chase Skunk, no matter how many he was been sprayed, welcome to the club!


Skunks are notorious for their anal scent glands. These glands produce the skunk's spray, which is a mixture of sulfur-containing chemicals such as thiols, which have an offensive odor. A skunk sprays to protect itself from predators, in this case, the cat!


Homemade Skunk Removal Solution

1/4 cup baking soda, 1 quarts 3% hydrogen Peroxide, 1 teaspoon dish soap (Double the recipe for a large dog.)

Applies the solution on your pets and wait for 5 - 20 minutes. Make sure to avoid the eyes. Rinse thoroughly.


Then wash your pets with shampoo


Other natural way to remove skunk smell

Young Living Purification Essential Oil is a great oil to remove the order of the skunk. Purification is a mixture of citronella, lemongrass, rosemary, melaleuca (i.e. tea tree), lavandin, and myrtle essential oils. It is useful for reducing and eliminating odors (as well as killing germs) of all kinds.


Mix the few drops of oil with water. Then spray on your pet.


Essential Oil

Mix essential oil with water or carrying oil - ratio of 1: 5 , then apply on your pets. Reapply if needed.
